Dr. Paul Alberto

​

Dr. Alberto has been a Hospitalist in the Clear Lake/Webster area for over 15 years. Originally hailing from the Philippines, Dr. Alberto completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic before settling in League City. Dr. Alberto carries multiple leadership positions at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Kindred and Cornerstone LTAC. Dr. Alberto is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Recently, Dr. Alberto created another Hospitalist practice, named XpertMD, which currently delivers patient care to several hospitals across the region, including both short and long team acute care facilities, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. He has been instrumental in partnering with primary care physicians and surgical specialists in the southeast region to provide exceptional care for their hospitalized patients. Dr. Alberto focuses his practice on the trauma service and intensive care.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Alberto spends most of his free time with his wife Jinky and his three children. He is also an avid photographer and gardener.

Dr. Michael Eisenberg

​

Dr. Michael Eisenberg is a career Hospitalist who takes great pride in providing evidence based, cost effective care. After attending The University of Wisconsin in Madison and Ross University, he relocated from New York in 2005 to start his Hospitalist career here in Texas.

During his tenure, Dr. Eisenberg has demonstrated a keen interest in leadership and quality improvement. He has championed several program initiatives including the Serious Safety Event Committee and the Physician Advocacy Communications Team. Previously holding the position of Medical Director of Kindred Clearlake Hospital, he is currently serving as Chief of Staff. He has completed Level 1 leadership training with the Society of Hospitalist Medicine. Dr. Eisenberg was recognized for his leadership ability by his former employer Inpatient Consultants of Texas (IPC), where he managed and lead a group of 12 practitioners providing Hospitalist care across the southeast region of Houston, Texas.

Dr. Eisenberg is the owner and manager of several start up Hospitalist companies including United Inpatient Providers (UIP), which currently supplies 24 hour Hospitalist coverage to Memorial Hermann Southeast and Pearland Campuses. Recognized as a leader in quality and patient satisfaction, UIP manages an average daily census of over 200 patient care encounters and is staffed by 20 physicians. Dr. Eisenberg believes communication is key to organizational success, and regularly meets face to face with his physicians and hospital administration to provide Memorial Hermann a quality program focused on shorter length of stay and cost cutting across all inpatient stays.

Recently, Dr. Eisenberg created another Hospitalist practice, named XpertMD, which currently delivers direct patient care to several hospitals across the region, including both short and long team acute care facilities, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. His team includes several clinical leaders in hospitals across the southeast region of Houston, Texas. He has been instrumental in partnering with primary care physicians in the southeast region to provide exceptional care for their hospitalized patients.

In his personal practice Dr. Eisenberg has been able to achieve efficient patient care with low utilization and length of stay while still focusing on low return to acute and a very high patient satisfaction score. He has been able to achieve top box scores over 99%. He has been effective in lowering length of stay to an average of 3.0 days and an incredible average observation time of 15 hours.

Dr. Eisenberg loves to teach and mentor other clinicians. He has successfully mentored numerous new physicians and has helped others improve their care delivery and quality scores. Dr. Eisenberg often serves as a clinician preceptor for nurse practitioner students from multiple schools including UTMB. He routinely provides lectures and in-services to nursing staff across all hospital lines, to both educate and improve physician-nursing relationships.

When he is not working, Dr. Eisenberg loves to spend time with his wife and 3 sons. He is active in all his children’s sports activities including tennis, soccer and football. He is also an avid car enthusiast and spends time racing sports cars at local racetracks with friends.

Dr. Matthew Kohlnhofer

​

​

Dr. Kohlnhofer was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He moved to Dallas and finished high school before graduating in 2007 from UNT in Denton, Texas. Dr. Kohlnhofer then matriculated to medical school at UTMB and graduated in 2011. After graduation, Dr. Kohlnhofer was accepted into UTMB’s Internal Medicine residency program which he completed in 2014.

Dr. Kohlnhofer is Chief Medical Officer of Houston Methodist Clear Lake where he works closely with hospital administration to improve such metrics as patient satisfaction scores. He is also Chief Medical Officer of Kindred Rehab Hospital. Dr. Kohnlhofer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

During his free time, Dr. Kohlnhofer enjoys spending time with his 3 children, Kennedy, Beckham, and Stella in their home in League City. Dr. Kohlnhofer and his family enjoy camping, riding bikes, skate boarding, and snow skiing.

Dr. Arun Jacob

​

Dr. Jacob is board certified in Internal Medicine.  He has been practicing as a Hospitalist for several years. He was born in India.  Dr. Jacob received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, magna cum laude, from University of Texas at Dallas.  He received his Medical Degree from University of Texas at Houston in 2010. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2013.  Dr. Jacob has worked in hospital settings at MD Anderson and Memorial Hermann Hospitals.  He joined United Inpatient Providers (UIP) in 2017 where he worked as a Hospitalist along with 30 other Physicians. He later joined XpertMD in 2019.  Dr. Jacob is passionate about providing good quality care to his patients while in the hospital. He follows their care to skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation facilities if needed.  He has built a rapport with other hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation facilities, and home health agencies in the Houston and the Southeast region.  

 Dr. Jacob currently lives in Pearland.  He enjoys spending his leisure time with his wife and daughter.

Dr. Taso Mougouris

​

Dr. Taso Mougouris has practiced as a Hospitalist in Southeast Houston for the past 15 years. He was born and raised in Houston and has lived in Houston for the majority of his life. He attended Rice University and then matriculated to St. George’s University School of Medicine. After finishing medical school, Dr. Mougouris began his residency at Albany Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident. He started his Hospitalist practice with Inpatient Consultants of Texas (IPC) in 2004 and was named Practice Group Leader.

 

Dr. Mougouris is the owner and manager of United Inpatient Providers (UIP), which currently supplies 24 hour Hospitalist coverage to Memorial Hermann Southeast and Pearland Campuses.  UIP manages an average daily census of over 200 patient care encounters and is staffed by 22 physicians. Dr. Mougouris has held several leadership positions during his professional career. He has held the position of Chairman of Medicine at Memorial Hermann Southeast for 6 years. He has been Chief of Staff of Cornerstone LTAC for 6 years as well, and currently serves as their medical director. He is also medical director of Memorial Hermann Hospice and Post Acute Rehabilitation as well. Dr. Mougouris was honored to be named Memorial Hermann Southeast’s Physician of the Year in 2008.

 

In his spare time, Dr. Mougouris enjoys spending time with his daughter Isabella. He also enjoys all forms of sports. Dr. Mougouris has owned a Crossfit affiliate and still is an avid Crossfitter. He is a Houston Rockets and Texans season ticket holder.

Dr. Booshan Perera

​

Dr. Perera is board certified in Internal Medicine. He received his Medical Degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2008.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency program at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut affiliated with Yale School of Medicine in 2015. Dr. Perera has a Master of Public Health from Bloomberg School of Public Health, The Johns Hopkins University 2018.

 

Prior to staring residency at Danbury Hospital, he also worked as an Internal Medicine Physician in Singapore and gained experience by completing his internship at Singapore General Hospital, Singapore.  He has presented in local and international research conferences and has been involved in clinical research activities and resident teaching activities. Since completing his residency he has worked as a hospitalist for more than 5 years and have worked in subacute care facilities.  He has organized community health promotion projects in Sri Lanka and played tennis for the University. Dr. Perera lives in Friendswood, Houston and enjoys spending his leisure time with his family.

 

Dr. Perera is currently practicing as a hospitalist. He is providing service to many hospitals in the Houston and Southeast region. He has affiliations with Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, Houston Methodist Clearlake Hospital, HCA Clearlake Hospital, Kindred Hospital, Cornerstone LTAC, Kindred Rehab and PAM Rehab Hospitals.

Dr. Sandeep Bhatt

​

Dr. Sandeep Bhatt was born in Mumbai, India. He completed medical school at the prestigious University of Mumbai in 2000. He then moved to the United States and completed his Ph.D. in molecular and Cellular Neuroscience from Kent State University in 2007. He then went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at CMEF in Canton, Ohio in 2010. Dr. Bhatt is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Currently, he is doing his fellowship in Neuro Critical Care at UTMB in Galveston.

 

Dr. Bhatt moved with his family to Denver, Colorado to join the faculty in the Century Hospitals. He then moved to Texas and has worked for TeamHealth in the Memorial Hermann system, particularly Memorial City and is currently employed with XpertMD. Dr. Bhatt believes that a great medical practice prospers with teamwork, and Dr. Bhatt will frequently volunteer to help out when other physicians are overwhelmed.

 

Dr. Bhatt currently resides with his family in the Clear Lake area. He enjoys biking, hiking, family activities and spending time with his dog.

Dr. Truc Le

​

Dr. Truc Le is a board-certified Family Practitioner who works part time for XpertMD. Dr. Le immigrated with his family to Houston at a young age and has lived in Houston for the majority of his life. A proud graduate of the University of Houston, Dr. Le then matriculated to medical school in the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then moved back to Houston to join Bellaire Family Practice before starting his own practice.

​

Dr. Le has worked part time for Inpatient Consultants of Texas and currently for XpertMD. Dr. Le enjoys seeing patients in both the hospital and office settings, and will frequently utilize his office experience in the care of his hospitalized patients, reminding them to follow up on their health maintenance. Dr. Le brings his attention to detail and his witty bedside manner when rounding for XpertMD.

 

Dr. Le lives in Bellaire with his wife and 3 children. Dr. Le is an avid sportsman and has organized charity basketball and golf tournaments. He frequent travels to South Carolina to watch his daughter Taylor, who is a scholarship athlete in softball in Southern Wesleyan University.

Dr. Amy Ray

​

Dr. Amy Ray is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Prior to medical school, Dr. Ray was engaged in clinical diabetes research at the VA in La Jolla, California for 4 years. She went on to obtain her medical degree from Touro University College of Ostepathic Medicine in Vallejo. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Baton Rouge General. Dr. Ray was in private practice for 2 years before finding her true calling: the care and Management of acutely ill patients. She joined our group at Inpatient Consultants of Texas in 2013 and then XpertMD in 2018.

​

Originally from California, Dr. Ray now lives in the Clear Lake area. When she is off work, Dr. Ray is an avid reader and a fitness enthusiast. Dr. Ray is married and has 4 children, and she spends the majority of her off time caring for them.

Dr. Peter Starr

Dr. Peter Starr is originally from San Antonio, Texas.  He attended Yale University for undergraduate studies and then returned to San Antonio for medical and graduate studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  There, he completed his Medical Degree and a PhD in biomedical engineering.  Dr. Starr then moved to Galveston for residency in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch.  Shortly after graduation he joined XpertMD as a hospitalist in the League City area.

Rodrick Hammond is a Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner for XpertMD.  He has strong clinical skills and has several years of experience in direct patient care.  Rodrick received a Master’s of Science in Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in 2018.  He is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  Rodrick delivers professional, safe, and quality patient care.  He ensures open lines of communication between patients and all members of the healthcare team.

Rodrick lives locally in Pearland. He is an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.  Rodrick likes sports and loves to travel.  Rodrick is very passionate about working with the geriatric population and he is dedicated to educating the patients on the management of chronic illnesses and maintaining a balance for optimal health.

Stephanie Narron is an established and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with over 5 years of experience in Internal Medicine, and over 20 years of nursing experience in wound care management, medical surgical, cardiology, and IMCU.  She completed her Master’s degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at Texas Women’s University in Houston, Texas, and her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, Florida.

Stephanie is active in the community and takes great pride in the care provided by XpertMD.  She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Texas Nurses Association.  She originally hails from central Colorado, but now considers the Texas bay area her home.  Stephanie spends her spare time reading, crafting, quilting, and gardening, but most enjoys time spent with her family where she devotes time as a mentor to her son’s scouting program.

Bryce Russell is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at XpertMD with experience in Hospital Medicine. Bryce graduated from Grand Canyon University after a career as an ICU nurse at Kindred LTAC. During his time at Kindred, Bryce gained invaluable experience in the care of ICU patients, wound care and rehabilitation. Bryce’s practice is focused at Houston Methodist Clear Lake where he works closely with his partners to provide comprehensive care for his patients.

 

Outside of work, Bryce is married and has 2 children, whom he loves spending time with them. On his off days, Bryce enjoys riding his motorcycle or hiking in the wilderness.
